Kolahun Hospital Turns the Lights On

Kolahun Hospital is located in the northwest corner of Liberia on the border of Sierra Leone and Guinea. It serve 100,000 people in the rural areas of those three countries. Until March 24, 2019 it had no access to reliable light and power, resulting in unnecessary deaths and suffering for patients who could not be treated during the dark of night.
With a grant from the Elmo Foundation of Charlottesville, Virginia, LEN installed a 6 kilowatt off-grid solar system which can now meet the critical needs of the hospital day or night. This is especially critical for maternal, child birth and emergency cases.
